Burno

live

Shuffle a virtual deck, flip a card, do the reps. A no-equipment workout you can run anywhere.

Introduction

Burno is a full-body workout played with a deck of cards. You don’t need real cards: the app shuffles and deals for you, keeps the time and counts every rep. Flip. Burn. Repeat.

I built it because my schedule kept beating my gym plans. Some days there just isn’t time to get to a gym, but there’s always a bit of floor, and usually a pull-up bar somewhere nearby. That’s all Burno needs.

How it works

  1. Pick your moves. Each suit gets an exercise. Keep the classics, swap in your own, or tap Shuffle moves for a random set: no gear, gear, or a mix.
  2. Flip a card. The suit is the move and the number is the reps. Aces are a 20-rep wildcard.
  3. Clear the deck. Keep flipping until it’s gone, with no skipping. Face cards earn a breather, and a joker asks you to pick between a 60-second rest and 30 seconds all out.

A half deck is a quick 15-minute hit; a full deck is the whole 45-minute session. You can do it anywhere (park, living room, hotel room) with just your body weight or a pair of dumbbells, and with friends everyone does the same card or takes turns dealing.

After the workout

  • A summary of your pace, per card and per rep, with a chart showing where you sped up or slowed down
  • A share card that saves your workout as an image
  • A count of every Burno workout done so far, plus everyone’s reps added up (only card and rep counts are sent, nothing personal)
  • Ratings and feedback, straight from the summary screen

Burno is free with no ads, supported by Ko-fi donations. It launched on 6 October 2026.
